WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS?

Wednesday till Friday from 5p.m. till 11p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 3p.m. till 11p.m.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND OTHER CAFES THAT ARE PROVIDING BOARD GAMES?

Playing is our main concern: we offer a wide variety of games, from the good old classics to currently released stuff. We are happy to help you find new games and some of our staff members are specifically here to explain the rules in person, so you don’t have to waste any time reading them.

ARE THERE SPECIFIC CORONA REGULATIONS?

The Corona virus made the stay in our café even more exciting than it already was. Thanks for that. You find all information about the regulations here.

DO I HAVE TO RESERVE A TABLE?

Yasss, Queen. Currently you can only visit us with a reservation. Here you will find all the details. When you send a request for a reservation, please wait for an e-mail for confirmation. If you would like to change an existing reservation or realize that you will arrive much later, please call us during opening hours (phone number: 040-1800 7959).

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PLAY?

For 5 Euro per person you can play as long and much as you want. Please notice that currently every reservation only lasts four hours. If you would like to stay longer, please make a connecting reservation. Children and teenager until the age of 14 pay 3 Euro. If you are (at least) six people in one group, you get a 1 Euro discount. If you only want to have coffee and cake, but pass on playing, you do not need to pay the fee. Prices for the rooms for Pen&Paper and Tabletop differ. We also offer a discount card for people visiting frequently.

CAN I PAY WITH CARD?

Yes, you can pay either cash or, if your bill exceeds 10 Euro, with card.

IS THERE A DISCOUNT FOR FREQUENT VISITORS?

We offer a discount card for frequent visitors. Every time you pay the fee you get one stamp. As soon as you have six stamps, the next visit will be for free. When you have another six stamps, you and someone you bring along will be playing for free. Just ask for the discount card the next time you are around.

ARE YOU OPEN ON NATIONAL HOLIDAYS?

Usually we are also open on national holidays, as long as it isn’t legally binding to close. Information about the next holiday will always be on our starting page.

CAN I JUST PICK THE GAMES MYSELF OR DO I HAVE TO ASK THE STAFF?

Of course you can just go and help yourself. All games are accessible for anyone.

CAN I RESERVE SPECIFIC GAMES?

No, unfortunately the reservation of games is not possible.

CAN I BRING MY OWN GAMES?

You certainly can do so, though the fee will still be charged.

MY FAVOURITE GAME IS MISSING. CAN YOU ADD IT TO YOUR COLLECTION?

DO YOU SELL GIFT VOUCHER?

Yes, we do. You can either order them online in our voucher shop or buy them during our opening hours.

IS THERE WIFI IN THE CAFÉ?

Yes, guests can use our WIFI for free. Login details can be found in our menus.

I AM A HUGE FAN! DO YOU HAVE MERCHANDISE?

We thought so. And we do. You can find merchandise online in our spreadshirt shop. There is also a small selection of shirts and bags within the café.

DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH? / CAN PEOPLE PLAY GAMES THAT CANNOT SPEAK GERMAN?

We have plenty of games in numerous languages. Our staff partly speaks English. If other languages are required, we will use every part of our bodies to explain the rules. Don’t hesitate, just come along!

I AM A GAME AUTHOR. CAN I BRING BY A PROTOTYPE FOR TEST PURPOSES?

You can do so, though we cannot promise that it will be played and assessed. For that purpose we specifically have prototype days, which are much more promising. Plenty of test players will be happy to provide you with feedback

CAN I BRING MY KIDS?

Children are very welcome here! From the age of 3, children will find suitable games for all age groups. A diaper changing table is downstairs in the ladies’ room.

However, according to the Youth Protection Act children are not allowed to come on their own, without the attendance of a legal guardian.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Yes, please. We already love your dog more than you do and happily provide a water bowl.

IS THE CAFÉ BARRIER-FREE?

The café is accessible for people in wheelchairs; however, the sanitary facilities are downstairs and can only be accessed via stairs.

IS THERE ROOM FOR PEN&PAPER AND TABLETOP GROUPS?

There is indeed. We have a few big tables that are suitable for exactly that. Please write us an e-mail beforehand, so we can reserve the right table for you.

IS THERE VEGAN / LACTOSE FREE / GLUTEN FREE FOOD AVAILABLE?

You will also find vegetarian and vegan food in our menu. Most of the time we also offer vegan cake. All of our hot drinks can also be prepared with vegan or lactose free milk. Usually we also provide gluten free pizza dough. Please do not hesitate to ask.

WHAT KIND OF CAKES DO YOU OFFER?

Our Baking Fairy is constantly baking fresh cakes therefore our offer is varying almost daily. We usually offer at least one vegan cake. You can find the daily menu on our cake menu next to the counter.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINKS?

It is absolutely not permitted to bring own food and drinks to the café. Should we be noticing that guests are bringing their own food and drinks, we will charge a corkage fee.

I CAN'T FIND ANY HARD LIQUOR ON THE MENU. CAN I BRING MY OWN?

We deliberately do not serve hard liquor in our café. Hence, bringing it is not permitted. We value playing games and cosy togetherness; therefore, our offer is limited to (craft-)beer, cider, and wine.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING?

Currently ten people per group are allowed to visit.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I HAVE TO MAKE A RESERVATION?

As soon as possible, since we have only limited capacities due to Corona.

CAN I HAVE MY BIRTHDAY OR OFFICE PARTY AT YOUR CAFÉ?

Technically yes. However, due to the current situation the groups must not be bigger than ten people. We are happy to accept reservations for bigger festivities in some far away future and hope that they can take place. Of course we cancel the reservations without any fee, if the regulations have not changed until then.

IS THERE SPECIAL FOOD FOR LARGER GROUPS?

Pizza buffet:

You choose the pizzas in advance from our menu and we serve up to eight pizzas at the same time.

Soups:

with meat: e,g, Chili con Carne, Cheese-Leek-Mince, Goulash, etc. (80 Euro / 9 litre pot)

vegan or vegetarian soups: e.g. pumpkin-coconut, red lentil, potato-carrots, broccoli-crème, etc. (60 Euro / 9 litre pot)

Served with our delicious panini bread.

Of course you can also simply order anything straight away from our menu, though you have to keep in mind that you might have to expect long waiting periods (especially with the panini), so better plan ahead.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS FOR A LARGER GROUP?

If you are at least six people, you pay 4 Euro per person. You can also book our Clubroom exclusively: The price for that is 200 Euro, including the fee, for up to 50 people.

HOW DOES YOUR FLEA MARKET WORK?

Currently our Flea Markes take place online on YouTube.

As soon as we can open again, it will be permanently set up downstairs and people are providing new games all the time. If you just want to have a look around, you still have to make a reservation (simply reserve a table for two people for 30minutes) and fill out the contact formular.

WHERE DO I FIND THE FLEA MARKET?

As soon as we are open again, you can find our Flea Market downstairs. Just quickly let us know when you want to go downstairs and you´ll receive all the necessary information.

CAN I COME BY ONLY FOR THE FLEA MARKET?

Sure! However, please reserve a table for 30 minutes in advance, so we have your contact details

CAN I SELL MY OWN GAMES?

Unfortunately we can't accept any more games for the Flea Market at the moment.

Here you can register your games in advance. The games must have corresponding labels and be checked for completeness beforehand, then you can drop them off during opening hours.
